Last year Facebook launched a carousel format for Facebook ads that helped brands parlay multiple objectives into one ad space. The format allows advertisers to highlight different attributes, benefits or even products in one ad location. Now the carousel will be offered for mobile app ads.
The new format will support 5 images and links that will scroll horizontally. This format will be available for both app install ads as well as engagement ads. According to Facebook the carousel link ads drive a 30-50% lower cost-per-conversion and 20-30% lower than single-image ads.
The unique storytelling aspect that the carousel format offers should be a hit with advertisers and their targeted audiences. Mobile carousel ads will be available for link ads in the API, Power Editor and Ad Create Tool while the Mobile Install and Engagement Ads are available in the API only.
