Nine months after hitting 200 million users, Instagram now says 300 million people use its photo app every month, with 70% of them coming from outside the US.
Instagram’s been going strong for four years now, and despite fears that the acquisition by Facebook would screw it up, there’s now 70 million photos shared each day, and over 30 billion total.
Can you imagine, If you printed all the Instagram photos uploaded in a year, how far would they reach? The height of the Empire State Building? Everest? Outer space?

Instagram announced to launch verified badges for celebrities, brands, and athletes so people don’t accidentally follow fake or look-alike accounts.
Although Instagram had no clear business model in the beginning, the company is slowly earning some revenue with promoted posts.
Advertising on Instagram is currently only available for a selected group of advertisers.

Although Twitter supports visuals better these days, Instagram is a winner for me.
